United Nations Command & Military Armistice Commission (UNCMAC).

The NZDF currently has 12 personnel deployed to the United Nations Command in the Republic of Korea (ROK). The United Nation Command (UNC) is a multinational body established in 1950 to defend the ROK.

Seven NZDF personnel are currently deployed to the UNC Headquarters supporting the development of plans, orders and concepts of operations for activities on the Korean Peninsula.

Five personnel are currently deployed to the United Nations Command Military Armistice Commission (UNCMAC), which is responsible for facilitating diplomacy between North and South Korea and monitoring the armistice agreement signed at the end of the Korean War.

In June 2024, Cabinet agreed to up to an additional 41 personnel; up to six for the UNC Honour Guard and up to 35 for the UNC Security Battalion. 

The mandate for this deployment expires in September 2026.
